Xcel Pro Surf Contest in Hawaii
Speaking of Hawaii… this week the Xcel Pro surfing contest is happening in the Rainbow State at it’s world famous Sunset Beach!!!
A north swell is producing 8-10′ waves and light offshore tradewinds are keeping conditions perfect.
The 2007 winner, Joel Centeio, (pictured above), advanced one step closer to taking the title again, posting the day’s best-scored wave: a 9.50 after a big turn and stall into one of today’s barrels.
“I was ecstatic,” Centeio said. “I just want to stay busy, ride waves, and keep making heats.”
