Have you ever thought about what would happen if mankind fished all of the fish from the Ocean? Well it’s not too far off from really happening!
Don’t miss your chance to see The End of the Line, a world class documentary about the devastating effect of overfishing on global oceans. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and prior to its worldwide release later this year, the producers have arranged special early screenings across the U.S. on World Oceans Day, June 8th.
The film, which is narrated by actor Ted Danson, examines the imminent extinction of bluefin tuna, brought on by increasing western demand for sushi; the impact on marine life resulting in huge overpopulation of jellyfish; and the profound implications of a future world with no fish that would bring certain mass starvation.
Filmed over two years, The End of the Line follows investigative reporter and author Charles Clover, who inspired the film with his book by the same title. The documentary also features interviews with some of the world’s foremost fishery scientists, including Dr. Daniel Pauly and Dr. Boris Worm.
